Album Notes

Modeled after the acoustic, swing jazz of Django Reinhardt and his incalculable influence across continents, the Polyjesters have since stirred in the spunk and spark of their easy going, playful temperaments, the wide appeal of modern folk, and the light, shuffley, feel-good buoyancy of alt. country and bluegrass to concoct a thoroughly warming, tingling collection, reminiscent of hot whiskey spreading from mouth to backbone. With an brief jaunt into hip-hop-meets-acoustic-pop, they haven't forgotten to throw in a wild card here and there along their way to capturing a bundle of creative innovation within a cherished and well-polished genre. Light on its feet, this album could most definitely be used as a natural mood-enhancer.

REVIEWS

author: CD Baby
What can I say- I LOVE these guys. Wrapping up early swing, ragtime, dixieland, stringband, and even a touch of alt country, they are adorable as hell. Bopping along with thumping upright bass, strummy, swinging spunk akin to Django and the boys, and a distinctive touch of wit and sass, the Polyjesters are not to be missed. Whether it's familiar favorites or an ingenious remake of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow," they harness the cleverest of clever and don't shy away from being downright bubbly.
