Pome's Biography
In '92 the above members along with Hoppy Kamiyama, Hajime Okano and Steve Eto formed the"PUGS".

They appeared at many American events such as CMJ and SXSW.

In January of '97 Casual Tonalities released the band's rocking American debut album "Pugs Bite the Red Knee".

The album reached #17 on CMJ, and #4 on CMJ's Top Adds 200 Chart.

In the spring of '92, Pugs toured 18 cities across the US, and later that summer they joined the second leg of the largest American rock event (at that time), Lollapalooza, touring 17 Midwestern cities with Prodigy, Snoop Doggy Dogg,Devo and others.

The band's performances won high praise from US music magazines and newspapers
as best performers of '97 (Alternative Press, The Chicago Reader ...etc.).

In October of '99, as Pugs worked to find a way to survive, Honey, Hikaru, Joe and Roger formed the "Pomegranate" as an experiment in simplifying thingscreatively and logistically.

They named this band the "Pomegranate" to commemorate their first tune composed "Pomegranate" .

And also because the band feel something in common musically with the mysterious pomegranate, the so-called "taste of blood" and "taste of a corpse".

The 20th Century was a time when so many forms of music came out...
Lightly touching upon all of these musical forms, and freely moving from one to another, combined with everything they can express as Asians and as Japanese filtered into their music, results in powerful music with an inner magma that is totally rocking! It is music to lead us into the opening of a new century!
