Winners of the 1999 & 2000 Spotlight on the Arts Award for Best Alternative Band and Best CD by an Established Band, NEMO Showcase Artists Pondering Judd release their first full-length studio project with the thundering sound of cannon-balls on top of station wagons.
Acoustic-driven, emotional-drenched rock from the Athens,GA of the Northeast...Portsmouth, NH.
"P-Judd does something largely absent from the music scene in '00-they write great songs." Showcase Magazine
Produced by Capitol Records recording artist Andy Happel, 'Curve' takes the listener through both sweet and bitter parts of the soul, ripping trees from their roots process.
Singer/songwriter Martin England writes in a musical style all his own, pulling from influences as diverse as Toad The Wet Sprocket, Grant Lee Buffalo and Johnny Cash.
Bassist Brian Gosselin and drummer Danny Carroll provide a solid hardwood under an undercurrent of acoustic guitars, and stirring mandolin and harmonica lines, provided by Blaise Masse.
Piano/organist Joe Jalbert adds sunlight through a broken windown pane, and producer Andy Happel appears on the record with violin and cello in hand, along with guitarist Hank Decken.
Pondering Judd has received accolades both locally and regionally. During winter of 1994, England received a Spotlight on the Arts Award for Best Male Vocalist. During the same period, the single Bleed Red Wine was recorded for Digital Mystery Tour Side Two, a compilation released by Big Noise Records out of Providence, RI. Bleed Red Wine was voted Best Local Alternative Song by readers of the Providence Journal in spring 1995. Sub Rosa was chosen as one of the Top Five Songs of the 1990's by Jam Magazine. In April 2000, Pondering Judd received a 1999 Spotlight on the Arts Award for Best Alternative Band.
They continue to tour the New England circuit, and occasionally open for such Boston magnates as Guster, Push Stars, Merrie Amsterberg and Grey Eye Glances.

author: George Dore
"Waist deep in the river's rage." A line taken from the second track "Flood" epitomizes P-Judd's attitude. The only thing that beats this record is their live performances, which, at this point, have unfortunately been limited to New England. Hopefully this record will change all of that.
