ALBUM INFO--
(Don't forget to check out Pope Jane's other album --"Relief" here on CDbaby.com!)

The 2000 Pope Jane Release Hide Me From The Moon. One of the favorite albums of the classic all female power-trio that started out of Billings, Montana, and spread across the world like a prairie fire. This album has definitely ingested the right Mojo. Unpretentious, raw, unbridled spirit offered to listeners in fine Pope Jane style. Winner of numerous awards for production and songwriting in 2000,including best of submissions for the RockrGrl Conference 2000 in Seattle, WA, and Best Indie Band of 2000 by FEMMUSIC.

Pope Jane's discography includes:

"Dog and Pony Show" - 2003
"Industry Whore" - 2001
"Hide Me From The Moon" - 2000
"Relief" - 1998
"Pope Jane" - self titled 1996

In March of 2000, only one month after it's then new release, Pope Jane wowed the President of AEI Music Network with Hide Me From The Moon. The band signed a licensing agreement with the leading commercial foreground music provider, AEI Music Network, to use cuts off of Hide Me From The Moon on their world-distributed commercial foreground music tracks. Tracks from the Pope Jane classic Hide Me From the Moon are still being licensed and used in current film soundtracks today, such as the 2008 Clear Pictures feature film, "Changing Spots".

Pope Jane's singles from this album peppered the airwaves of commercial FM and college stations in 40 states and 8 countries. Grab yourself a copy and see what all the fuss is about!

REVIEWS

Pope Jane Takes the Gold Ring with Hide Me
author: John Potter, The Billings Gazette
Completely unlike Pope Jane's December 1998 release, Relief, which was a shocking stab through the gut of human discontent, Hide Me From The Moon is a solid, focused, melodic treatment on the nature of relationships - with ourselves, with those we love, with those we've loved and continue to love, and with the powers created within and around relationships. Tracks such as "Lay Down Your Life", "Are You Afraid", "Faith", and "Are You Happy" showcase masterful writing, seductive and inventive musical and vocal layers, and the expressive, solid rhythms that Pope Jane will become known for...They are the real deal - three wildly-talented songwriters and oustanding musicians, who are all naturally gorgeous women, no air-brushes or cosmetic surgery required. The scary truth is, the awesome magnitude of Pope Jane's infectious, intoxicating talent will indisputeldy place them in the same catagory as such cultural icons as Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Blondie, and dare I say it - The Beattles. Whatever 'it' is, Pope Jane has tons of IT.

Vocal Harmonies Bring Character to Pope Jane's Latest Album
author: Les Reynolds, Indie-music.com
Right off, from the opener "Lay Down Your Life" you notice the energy... mostly acoustic, driving rhythms and Egnew's strong, edgy vocals with just a hint of upper-midwest twang. Kristen Coyner and Holly Hoagland are an impeccable rhythm (and gorgeous back-up vocal) section (on drums and bass respectively)...The gorgeous harmonies, so wonderfully evident on "The One," at times evoke images of the Indigo Girls and at other times you'd swear you were hearing Ann and Nancy Wilson of the popular Seattle group of the 70s called Heart (remember them?)
