Can't Stop Playing This!
author: Brad Rodney
I don't think I can say anything about the band or this album that hasn't already been said. I've been following these local boys for about 5 years now and I haven't been disappointed yet. I'm so glad they've finally received the exposure that they so well deserve. I hope they continue to work this hard on everything they do and I wish them luck and continued success. What are you waiting for? ORDER THIS ALBUM!!

Absolutely Great
author: g. steven creamer
Hi Kenton...as I ststed in my emails, your a lifesaver with this one. This is my favorite genre of music & lately what's been out there was sorely lacking. I simply love this album and have been playing it constantly for friends & music lovers. I really shouldn't make comparisons but the last album I enjoyed this much was A Perfect Circle's 13th Step. The songs really flow well from beginning to end. Your vocals & lyrics are exceptional, the percussion is phenomenal, & love the bass tempo. I could always can pick a favoite track from any album until now. Six Degrees entertains my heart; Jebel Moon & The Simple Things spark a fire in my rock soul... there is simply not a weak song in this group.
I know you really put a lotta hard work into this and I for one truly appreciate the results. I've been getting the word out to look & listen to this. Great work and hope there's more coming down the road.

Can't get any better than this!
author: Robby Scott
I received this autographed album from Portal album on October 16th.. It's November 6th.. I have not been listening to anything else since. This is just to inform everyone involved with Portal of fantastic work, it seriously can't get any better than that. You guys nailed it. From start to finish it's pure excellence, it really leaves one wanting more. The talent combined when the music begins: great bass tempo, of course sick @$$ drums with the occassional head jamming beats, unique guitar riffs with a bad@$$ old school touch that i've been waiting for with this new age rock going on.. and as far as the vocals go.. words cannot say how well Kenton sings and explains views with such melody and compassion. This is one of the best bands ever... I said Tool was my favorite band of all time, but damn guys.. you keep this kind of stuff up and that will soon change.
keep it coming!!!

Look out Porcupine Tree!
author: Morganstudios
Holy #$*&%^ this album is good. I have all their CDs and this is probably the best one. This is 1 hour 10 min of top quality Portal music. I know its a good album when my favorite track is the one I\'m listening to at the moment ^^
I say \"Porcupine Tree look out!\" because this album more than the others sounds like Porcupine Tree with one important difference: I like the Portal singer much better. That to me is sooo key. (though beating Porcupine Tree instrumentally is near impossible, that drummer OMG, and the HARMONIES!) To me the singer sounds like a more positive and articulate version of Trent Reznor who I also really like. And I really love it that they are progressing to do some of the more \"out there\" soundscapes that Porcupine Tree does....and the drummer is cetainly coming more and more out front with the same kind of interesting and solid grooves and fills.
This time around Portal seems to be following the success of their live track \"Insurgent Few\" on Garageband. I hear a lot of the same kind of guitar riffs with awesome odd meter drum solos. If you are into cool rhythms Portal has delivered once again. Song after song of interesting meter changes that are so well done they will slip by you if you aren\'t paying attention. One thing that amazes me is the way the singer takes these complex lyrics and sings them over all this odd meter music in a way that sounds so natural like it was all 4/4.
Only thing I miss from the older albums is there seems to be less synth, but with great song writing and playing like this I honestly forget about it as I\'m enthralled by each new track.
ok going back I think I\'m actually going to pick out two favorites: Your Kettle and The Kingdom. Man the second half of Kingdom is just stellar. You can actually hear the part I\'m talking about in the demo clips..It goes from this soft beautiful mesmorizing and building 6/4 harmonized melody that breaks into an angsty Tool like riff with the singer doing his Reznor like angry vocals over the top. ACK PERFECT!
