Postmodern Blues is the musical collaboration of Bradford Booth and Scott Hedges. Our music represents a mix of old school jazz ideas, and modern jazz / R&B / Rock sounds. Our sound is a high-energy mix of these genres in the spirt of fusion bands of the 1970s and 1980s, like Weather Report, Chick Corea's Elektric Band and Tribal Tech. These bands are not around anymore, but we are keeping the genre alive because it rules all musical genres; Fusion is truly Musicians' music.
We have been writing, arranging, and performing together for many years, and have just released our 2nd album "The Many Designs" available here on CD Baby. As writers and arrangers first, Brad and I are always seeking the best "musical fit" for a particular tune. For this reason, you will see a diverse cast of players on our albums - this ensures a fresh approach to each piece, keeping the energy levels high and the grooves ever changing. For this album, the outstanding Senegalese bassist Cheikh N'Doye contributed his fantastic playing as well as 2 of his own compositions.
Just check out the liner notes of the CD and our website, www.postmodernblues.com, for a full list of the musical contributors on The Many Designs.

The Many Designs indeed. This album is full of wonderful fusion in the truest sense of the word. The playing is superb but the focus is definitely on the songs. Each time I listen I discover new sounds and the hour flies by! Highly recommended for fans of Holdsworth, Stern, etc. or just really outstanding, tasteful music. One of my favorite releases of the genre ever. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!
