POTCOVAH straight out of Kingston Jamaica, Potcovah has been performing in clubs on the dancehall scene and has worked with some of the best reggae artist in the world. Potcovah has helped other artist with their music and has assisted with writing and performing; now it’s his time to shine on his first new album Mic and ME.
Samuel Shields born in Kingston Jamaica, (a.k.a. Potcovah). The name Potcovah came from friends I grew up with in Jamaica, when I was a little boy every day when I came home from school I would run to the kitchen to see what momma cooked, I would always lift the pot cover off the pot so my friends started calling me Potcovah. I grew up on Maxfield Ave. and Cock burn Pen in Jamaica, also known as Waterhouse, back in the days Waterhouse was a nice place to live we just needed money, I grew up seeing my mother struggling which led me being raised by my aunt Ras Micheal and Sista P. I was inspired by my Uncle in law Ras Michael and Sons of Negus, who I grew up around which inspired me to love Reggae music more and inspired by other artist like Bob Marley, Capleton, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, and many many more.
As a child I remember growing up playing the niyabingi drums and music all the time, music was always around me, I am a born musician who loves to write my own tunes from the heart. I love watching people dance and having fun through my music, the music touches my soul and keeps me alive that’s why I fall in love with music. I see myself as the next reggae star keeping it real all over the world.
