Very Glad This One Came....

I didn't order this CD. CD Baby sent it to me as I had placed a repeat order. They clearly know what I like. This has marvellous storytelling a la Richard Shindell and contains some standout tracks. One Mississippi - about absence making the heart grow fonder and a determination to make the ultimate re-union permanent is magic stuff. A meeting with a member of the spirit world in The Ghost of Memory Hill is poignant, life on the road is under the microscope in Three Chords And Your Smile. Benefit of the Doubt is about how your first impressions may be incorrect - so don't be too hasty! However, the last two listed tracks - You're All The Stars I Need and Your Favourite Scene probably just steal the show. The hidden bonus track is also a corker - I'm going to have to dip into his back catalogue now!

If you want to pass some time, some quality time, with a CD and your stereo (and anyone you love, yourself included), be sure to have County Line Road! If it doesn't make your heart melt like chocolate on a summer day in August, well... David's mix of melody and lyric is something the mainstream needs more of: insight, gentleness and true love. It's not in your face, and it's not asking you to look deeper, it's a calling to your memory of what was, and what could be, if you could believe again.
