It was at the ripe old age of 21 when Josh Powell first sang. He had never studied music in any form, instead pursuing a career in Engineering, but all that would immediately change with that first experience. After completely overhauling his academic focus, Josh earned a degree in Lyric Theatre from the University of the Pacific. Following graduation, Josh studied with the renowned Metropolitan Opera Bass-Baritone Andrew Wentzel as a Masters student at the University of Tennessee. After completing his tour of duty as a member of the Knoxville Opera Studio, Josh moved to New York and has been performing ever since. In 2002, after appearing in numerous roles in his native California, Josh was awarded both the San Francisco Critics Circle Award and the Dramalogue Award. He has since performed all across the country in musical theater, opera, and operetta to rave reviews. In 2005, Josh signed with GS Associates Artist Representatives, whose kind encouragement led to this little experiment. “I’ve Got a Little Story” marks Josh’s first foray into the recording studio.
