Lager than Life is the third CD released by the Poxy Boggards, and it marks an era of increased production value for the band. It contains original and traditional songs of drinking and revelry.
The Poxy Boggards were founded in 1993 in a shabby apartment in Long Beach, California. It was an excuse to sing, drink and flirt with women at the local Renaissance Faire.
From their earliest performances, the Poxy Boggards became known for their rich, robust, raucous harmonies. Many a traditional tune has been reinvented with the Boggard sound, and their original music makes a rich -- albeit irreverent -- addition to the body of American West Coast folk music.
Fifteen years and five CDs later, the Boggards continue to shock and delight audiences in the Southern California Area.

Not as good as was expected
author: Junior
Having seen the Boggards show many times at the California Ren faires over the years, I was hopeing to find the same sense of festivity with this CD. A lot of the extra added things done for faire (extra little bits in between and during songs) were missing from the studieo produced CD, and quite frankly left it lacking. The Boggards as always are an excellent group and I highly recomend them but this CD left me hitting "next" more times than I like.....
