Album Notes

Whiskey Business is the fifth offering of the award-winning Poxy Boggards. It features a collection of traditional Irish tunes.

The Poxy Boggards were founded in 1993 in a shabby apartment in Long Beach, California. It was an excuse to sing, drink and flirt with women at the local Renaissance Faire.

From their earliest performances, the Poxy Boggards became known for their rich, robust, raucous harmonies. Many a traditional tune has been reinvented with the Boggard sound, and their original music makes a rich -- albeit irreverent -- addition to the body of American West Coast folk music.

Fifteen years and five CDs later, the Boggards continue to shock and delight audiences in the Southern California Area.

You make me laugh and tap my toes, "cause I know with your music....anything goes. It's such a nice break from rock and pop. And I want you to know that I like it alot. So thanks for the music, both bawdy and pure. I think your "Pub Rock" is a style to endure.

I wasn't sure what to expect, not having had a chance to see the Boggards in a few years, but I was pleasantly surprised by the song list, and how they choose to perform them. I'd still be listening to it at work if my boss wasn't such a twit that iPods are verboten
