Prairie Town first performed in the Fall of 1985. They set out to be a garage band that rocked harder and faster than a Chevy backseat on prom night... and they achieved that goal. For Keeps and a Single Day is the band's first full length album, recorded in 1991. This is the album that prompted The Chicago Tribune to hail Prairie Town as "Local Heroes". The disc features straight ahead midwestern garage rock (Get Away, I Will Understand), pristine pop (For Keeps and a Single Day, When the Night Comes Down) and understated acoustic numbers (Burn Your Trust, Ride It Out and Oh Elizabeth).
