Album Notes

In this new CD Macedon is producing Prefti. In fact, Prefti includes MACEDON. All Prefti's musical projects are done by Mihali Prefti and Macedon. On the previously released CD BATTLES AND CELEBRATIONS Mihali Prefti played flutes/whistles and panflutes on some tracks.

The music on this CD is originating from Pindus, Gramusti, Olimpus, where the Macedonarmans have lived since time immemorial. A few songs on this CD are new and contemporary.

Mihali Prefti and Macedon are father and son and they are first and second generation not living in those mountains but still keeping the language and culture of their ancestors. They play and record old songs and also compose new music based on their old songs and musical culture. Macedon's main aim is to recreate through his music historical events of his forefathers patrida, as he attempted it in Battles and Celebrations, his previous CD.

Flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, bass guitar, drums, harp players who like this music are welcome to join us on a future musical and choreographic project named CORLU A MUNTSALORU/ THE DANCE OF THE MOUNTAINS.
