The Press:
“The world-class musicianship of Reisler and Read is evident throughout, but the performances never feel like flashy showmanship. Each instrumental unfolds with a balance of precision and passion. Performing Songwriter Magazine
“Reisler's compositions have a sparkle unto themselves moving the listener forward with the steady easy grace of a mighty river flowing from its headwaters.” Robert Nall, WHFR FM –
“Reisler’s new CD, Birth of a River, is a dazzling co-creation with Bobby Read, of Bruce Hornsby's band. The disc is a stunning display of virtuosity that never forgets the importance of melody.” Dave Nuttycombe, Washington City Paper
“Musically expressive and full of integrity, it’s instrumental music reflecting the moods and power of nature through a sensitive fusion of jazz, folk and classical styles. This comes as no surprise considering that Reisler has been at the forefront of acoustic fusion music since he founded the band Trapezoid in 1975. Reisler is an expressive and versatile composer.” The Coloradoan. Ft. Collins, CO

Paul Reisler and Bobby Read's "Birth of a River" remarkably blends new age atmospheres and dreamy backdrops with the sophistication and compositional direction of jazz. At times reminiscent of Oregon, Trapezoid and Sting, they also wrap in compelling and striking world music elements, instrumentally, conceptually and technically to keep their sound and vocabulary fresh and all-encompassing. Serving as a great relaxation, driving, or general contemplative disc, this album delivers ten unique tracks which alone and together, capture a meaningful, inward journey.
