Music that's in touch with the Source

I first got to hear Wallpaper Music more or less by luck; as it turned out, it was my favorite new album in a long time. Sparkling, radiant electric guitar work (plenty of it) and rich vocals are part of what make it special. The songs are very eclectic but many share an expansive, open feeling that's hard to find in today's pop music. To borrow an often-misused phrase ... "real music." Do yourself a favor and buy it.

Soul Searching in Prescott's music leads one to that special place in the heart:
author: Allan J. Byer
Prescott takes the listener on a journey of the mind and soul with this eclectic mix of rootsy instrumentation, leading us Home to that most special place, the Human Heart. Taking on Water is my favorite, a fine tribute to the passing of a Giant, George Harrison. Wallpaper Music speaks to the artists out there who play to the ignoring masses most of the time but maintain their artistic integrity and mission. Too Close for Comfort, Fear of Falling and the The Way I think You See Me form a finely orchestrated medley of soul-searching around what it is to be human. Wake Me Up When It's Over is a fitting anthem on 911, and Prescott wrote the tune before the event, an example of how "The Muse" sometimes works in the artist. Overall an amazing collection of "High Protein" listening, a lot to bite down on. Try the taste of Wallpaper Music. I think you'll like it.

DEAN PRESCOTT Wallpaper Music (CD)(MirrorTime Records) It’s said with respect but if someone writes his first song in 1975 then I think you can use THE TERM “veteran” and that’s only a good thing as “Wallpaper Music” is a cd in where the quality is outstanding. This musician from Oregon (that’s in the US) has played lots of shows solo and also with his band, The Substitutes. It’s kind of difficult to describe Dean’s music in a proper way but using the term intelligent pop music isn’t just a term for the sake of giving one as it has the freshness of early Elvis Costello-recordings but added with the intelligence of early REM and if you combine that with a psychedelic touch in Syd Barrett-style, the result can only be good, no? A new album should be out in 2003."
