OK, I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to Christmas music played by brass choirs. PresidioBrass has a less mellow tone than the established ensembles like the Canadian Brass. You pays your money and you takes your choice.
Not that these five guys cannot blow mellow, but their arrangements are different, a bit sharper here and there. Nothing dramatic.
I like the mellow sound better, but PresidioBrass is a nice change from too much sameness during the last month of the year.
Since these guys are from San Diego, you would expect them to play "White Christmas" with feeling. They do. The arrangement by John Large is distinctive.

just right for the holidays

Order extras! Last year, I gave these as gifts, after discovering Presidio Brass completely by accident here at cdbaby.com, and everyone loved them. As you can see and hear here, a nice variety of carols and songs of the season, both sacred and secular, are presented in arrangements that are both familiar and totally new. Beautiful playing, too.

Great Group!

These fellows recently played at our Community Concert and everyone just loved them. They stayed overnight and did an outreach program to HS students stressing the importance of education. What could be more important! Wonderful bunch of artists, fun, friendly and fabulous on their instruments.
