Album Notes

The debut Pressure Cooker CD was released in June of 1999, featuring 14 original tracks. The album has since received high praise from a variety of different publications, and has established Pressure Cooker as a strong new musical force on the reggae music scene in Boston and America.

The record features many styles of rocksteady, reggae and ska music, as well as a touch of Latin flavor on the track Bella Luna. Leading the way is vocalist Kreg Akira Fujita, supported harmonically by Mr. Howie B, and instrumentally by the Pressure Cooker players.

Pressure Cooker came together in January of 1997 to form a nine-piece group that creates and performs a unique blend of rock-steady reggae music. Their sound draws upon the traditional Jamaican reggae movements of the sixties and seventies, and their songwriting draws influence from a broad base of American pop music.
