Carrie Clark of Sixteen Deluxe is back with her guitar and her pretty, punky, wise and nasty vocals at the helm of this three-piece wall of pop noise sound beast. Careful where tightness is required, explosive when they can't help it and violently melodic. Kevin Whitley of Ed Hall and Cherubs fame drums with vigor and his tongue hanging out. The bass player sounds black but is in fact a skinny white guy named Matt Hovis who used to play in Cotton Mather.

Dislikes: boring blahness, republicans, bad pie
The Austin Chronicle sez that The Pretty Please are:
"dark, naughty, and Kim Gordon-esque but with a dollop of the sugar-pop that made Sixteen Deluxe such a gas"
and that:
"theirs is a heavy, sweet sound that'll stick in your craw".
Their first recording, which you will buy soon, is a four-song EP called Demonstration released by Action Figure. Check the AF website: www.actionfigure.com.
The Pretty Please live in Austin, Texas. Come and get 'em. They're waiting for you.

Oh yeah...

Bass is the blunt instrument. Guitar is the sharp razor. Drums are the tattoo. Very deliberate delivery. First-prize vocals. Seems happy and yet...

I really like this CD. Rock n roll just the way i like it: Gritty but not unorganized, chatchy but not overly poppy, lots of thick low end sound, solid songwriting, and great mood/feeling thoughout the EP.
I would recommend this to underground rock n roll fans everywhere!

Even better than Sixteen Deluxe (which says a lot)

I've been a big Caroline Clark fan for the past decade, due to her fronting of Sixteen Deluxe. The Pretty Please are even better, like a melodic slap to the face, ears, and back of the head, all at the same time. Much recommended music for those who like pretty and loud sounds.
