Brad's music and ministry are all about touching the heart of God.
"What I do is not so much about making music as it is about providing an opportunity and an atmosphere for people to interact with God. Hearing that someone has heard God speak to them through my music is one of the greatest joys I know."
Brad had his musical passions nurtured at an early age through his family. "I had two brothers who played guitar. After receiving my first guitar in 3rd grade for Christmas, I began learning all the classic starter songs - "On Top of Old Smokey", "The Rose". I think the first song I ever sang in public was in 6th grade. I sang "The Gambler" (there will be no repeat performances!)."
Early learning on the guitar gave way to high school and college training--as well as a bachelor's degree--in percussion and piano. It wasn't until his college years that Brad returned to his guitar playing on a consistent basis. It was at this time that his song writing skills also began to develop.
"I was doing a lot of worship leading in my college Christian fellowship and found it very handy to lead with guitar (it's just not as effective singing "Holy, Holy, Holy" with the snare drum!). However, when I'd write songs, I'd write them with either the guitar or the piano." He soon began to incorporate a number of these songs in some of his coffeehouse and church concerts.
Brad's worship leading and song writing skills were furthered developed through his next five years of ministry to college students with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Leading worship at student conferences and chapter events as well as teaching on worship on college campuses have continued to be a part of Brad's activity.
In January of 2000, Brad started One Thing Ministries (OTM), a ministry devoted to making disciples of Jesus Christ through music. Brad now devotes himself full-time to this ministry, traveling around the midwest to campuses, churches and coffeehouses. Brad also runs his own recording studio, The Workshop Recording Studio (www.theworkshopstudio.org) based in Eau Claire, WI.
Brad has just recently released his second recording, "Salvation" (2001). His first one is entitled "His Love Endures Forever" (1999) and is available through Brad's website at www.onethingministries.com.
Having settled in Eau Claire, WI with his wife, Melissa, and two children, Emily and Elias, Brad loves to spend time playing basketball and golf, riding bike with his family and sitting around his backyard campfire with friends. He continues his song writing, performing and training, all with the focus of allowing God to be the source and the end goal of his music. An opportunity to hear Brad's music, live or recorded, is an opportunity for God to minister to you. You will hear of God's glory, power and incredible love for us; you will hear God say, "Draw close to me and I will draw close to you."
