Haunting and meditative, this solo vocal and acoustic piano recording is so calming it's ethereal. One might say "new age", but that barely scratches the surface of this healing collection of "songs from the other side". Spiritual yes, religious never.

On a planet overrun with chaos, how does one describe, much less begin to address the state of the world? Sometimes a simple exploration of the issues is enlightening, in lieu of the actual answers. If you set that exploration to music, you might happen on the creation of "Chasing Shadows". Starting with a plea for peace "Earth to Control", and ending with the hopeful affirmation that there is still an existence beyond this life "The Road Goes On", this recording is frankly spiritual in nature without ever stooping to religious dogma. Is there really life after death? Whether one believes in "afterlife" or not, everyone has asked the "what if" question at some time in their lives. And this recording, while not pretending to quantify any of the answers to life's most complex questions, does attempt to offer two important aspects useful to survivors on the road to recovery from great loss... consolation and hope.
From the singer-songwriter's liner notes: "Sometimes it's tough to ask questions for which there are no ready answers. In our culture, where death and dying have been stripped of their humanity and reduced to cold statistics, attempting to explain the unexplainable is met with derision as often as it is with intrigue. It is my hope that these songs will come to be seen as 'Lullabies for the Living' as much as 'Requiems for the Departed'. My purpose may well exceed my grasp. But then, that may well be the essence of 'Chasing Shadows'."
