Combining a childlike playfulness with a sage sensibility, singer/songwriter Christopher Prim crafts acoustic music that treats deep themes in playful and original ways. Whether a love song (It's Spring), a song about a much-abused car (Little Four-Cylinder), or a 7 minute blues-oriented meditation (Manzanita), Prim delivers spiritual insight with a down to earth attitude, and plenty of humor. His warm baritone voice and inventive fingerstyle guitar provide a base of tasty ear-candy, into which he imbeds thoughtful, articulate lyrics, and a frequently through-the-side-door perspective that keeps listeners on their toes. Drawing from influences such as Bruce Cockburn, Stephen Stills and David Wilcox, his music combines blues, country, and rock. Prim is an accomplished poet as well, and often spices his set with a few well-chosen poems between songs. His first CD "Number One" contains eleven original songs with voice, guitar and hand drums.
"Singer, musician and poet Christopher Prim has been a fixture around Mount Shasta for three years now, and the city is better off for it. Prim, who performs original songs and poems, delights the ear and stimulates the head. His one-man show has you alternately laughing out loud and then attentively listening, while his constant stream of creative lyrics and sharp-edged poems pour forth from the stage. Prim doesn't just comment on love, society and the world, he shreds them to their core.
Prim has the uncanny ability to not only let you know how he feels about a subject, but to get you to look at your own perceptions, and perhaps alter your view. An excellent guitarist, Prim's acoustic accompaniment always hits the right notes for his highly expressive singing style. Funny, soulful, outrageous, satirical and slightly profane, Chris Prim makes for not only an enjoyable evening of entertainment, but a thought provoking one as well."

Sparce accompaniment and minimal production create a winning combination on this CD. The acoustic guitar is out front giving it a true singer-songwriter, modern folk vibe with some tasty guitar work. Very good and intresting both lyrically and musically. From bluesy ballads to sweet little instrumentals, this is a hit.
