Prisca’s first recording debut began when was selected as a young teenager to record a song on a special record commemorating the 50th Birthday of the then president of Zambia, President Kaunda. Her love for music and the desire to continue recording and performing had to be put on a back burner for a few years. In that time, she lived and studied in England, the U.S., Italy and Japan, earning a B.Architecture and a Masters of Economics Degree.
Since coming to Japan in 1986, Prisca has performed and recorded not only in Japan, but in Singapore, China, and her home country, South Africa. Her second album was produced by the legendary trumpeter, Hugh Masekela. Selections from that album can be heard on her third album, “Best”, which also includes recordings with the Japanese wiz-pianist, Masahiro Sayama, and the ‘drummer’s drummer’, Masahiko Osaka.
At present, Prisca resides in Japan where she teaches at university, has a gospel group, Voices Of Praise and sings regularly in prestigious jazz clubs and the Nagoya Hilton Hotel. “I love all kinds of music!” Prisca explains, “I want to keep on growing and expressing myself musically, there is no limit as to what one can achieve!”
