Album Notes

The band Prodigal has been around the valley Catholic/Christian music scene for a few years now, and has recently released their debut, self titled, CD. The CD is a collection of different styles ranging from the contemporary alternative “We are One Body” original to a darker version of the popular “Go Make a Difference” written by Steve Angrisano and Thomas N. Tomaszek. The CD is dark, edgy, and yet has the message of God's love and mercy. It was produced by Chris Muglia from Hope Records, and recorded at Crossroads Recording Studios in Tempe, AZ. The band itself has undergone many changes over the years, and has had many different members. The main songwriter and singer/guitarist has always been Douglas S. Slater, and he is the main influence behind the band's music. When asked to describe their music, Prodigal gives this quote. “We like to think of ourselves as the band that will bring real Christian, alternative, punk, metal, thrash, and elevator music together. Well, maybe not the elevator music, but we will be taking the Christian music world by storm.” Prodigal has performed around the Phoenix area at many churches including St. Maria Goretti's, Christ the King, and St. Theresa's to name a few, as well as some valley book stores. Their concerts are high energy, and get everyone involved.

An analysis of prodigal a nice alternative to rock
author: Tara
This CD is an uplifting form of art that reminds me of the happiness and importantance God plays in our world and lives. The music is remarkably played and sung. The music ventures into the sound of alternative and hard rock, but instead of the normal mundane lyrics that leave one depressed and angry this music leaves one happy and remembering the importance of what is true and worthy.

You don't have to like Christian music to enjoy this CD.
author: Tim
Anyone will enjoy this CD whether you're a Christian music fan or not. It has a good mixture of different types of music and has the types of songs you will be singing along with. This is a good start for Prodigal. Hopefully, this CD will take off and we can look forward to more Prodigal music down the road.

This is the best CD you could ever buy
author: Sarah Nelson
This is such an inspirational piece of art. The CD just invites you to rock out with God, and give your praise to Him. Remember singing is praying twice! These guys wrote how God is the almighty and creator. Their music is definatly my pick of the year. If you don't own Christain music, then I don't know what you are doing here, but who cares! Buy the CD and you won't regret it. If you are a faithful Christain-only listener then this CD must be added to your collection! You won't regret listening to this music. Some of the songs are a little odd at first, but, if you're like me, they will be your favorite songs! "We are One Body" is the most beautiful song. Be sure to give it a listen, and see what I mean. Peace!

Thought Provoking
author: Nicole
Prodigal is awsome! My two favorite songs were A Million Miles, and Send me an Angel. A million miles just makes me want to dive into prayer. I love just thinking of how we can drive ourselves so far away and God always takes us back into His arms. Then Send me an Angel is so awesome because, how cool is it when God sends you an angel, even though most the time we don't realize it is one. God is just so good to us because if we honestly ask Him to send us an Angel and believe He will, He does. This CD is just awesome, I would recommend it to anyone because it reaches all music types.
