Album Notes

Mr. Richard Bailey, aka Proem, has been quiet for awhile,... but he's been busy. Very busy making Socially Inept, the most densely emotive Proem record to date. His second album on Merck, and fourth overall. Described by Richard as being sweeter than a vegan triple chocolate peanut butter mousse with an extra thick crust. You'll find many of his 'patented sweet' Proem melodies and arrangement. He has traded in most of his Burnplate crunch for some of the smoothest and most precise beats around. As well as his more varied structure and progression definitely display a maturity not seen previously.

This is a great CD start to finish! I've been listening to it over and over for a week now. Even though all sounds are technologically driven there is real organic quality to the performance. Unlike a lot of electronic music these tracks evolve and go somewhere, not to mention the emotions they elicit. Excellent stuff!

Since I bought this CD, I've been on a lot of airliners, and I must say it is AMAZING to look down on the clouds while listening to this music. Also, when I'm bored out of my mind and there's nothing to actually focus on while I'm waiting for something, this CD takes hold of my imagination. Wonderful.

This is my first electronica-oriented type of music. I'm impressed. Word of advice, if you like the sounds of this album, GET IT---but don't get Negativ(its weirder than all get out)Socially Inept is more ascessible(I think). My favorite tracks are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,11,12,13 (pretty much everthing except for trach 8.

Certainly Different
author: Raven
It's always awesome to hear something that can be both trippy and solid at the same time. You can fall asleep with some of these songs, but there's plenty of punch, too.
