Album Notes

ZZ Top, Pantera, Kings X, the Toadies, Drowning Pool and now PROGNOSIS. Texas has been home to some of the most influential rock artists of our time. However with Texas’ rap, hip hop and country world it is hard to get much recognition outside of the Lone Star State.

Through a potent combination of meaningful songs and an unforgettable live show Prognosis is steadily gaining ground in the uphill battle for respect and acknowledgement throughout all levels of the national music community.

Prognosis has more than mastered the local rock scene consistently drawing a substantially larger crowd than practically any other local band in the Houston area and quite possibly giving all of local hard rock bands in Texas a run for their money. With hits like Home, Flammable and Scream, it is no wonder the band has been a favorite on Houston rock station 94.5 the Buzz as well as a featured artist multiple times on the Texas Rock radio show with Zakk United, being one of the only local bands to penetrate the giant entity known as Clear Channel. Not only has Prognosis had a successful radio career, they have been nominated for the prestigious Houston Press Awards for “Best Metal” joining artists in a variety of other categories such as Mike Jones(Swisha House/Warner Bros), Hayes Carll, Lonestar Pornstar and Michael Haaga(Dead Horse, Superjoint Ritual).

Prognosis’ anticipated debut album, “Unspoken” was recorded at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios(The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Big Bopper, Freddy Fender and Destiny’s Child) in Houston Texas. The album was engineered by Tim Wehrle, mixed by Grammy nominee Steve Christensen(Destiny’s Child, Clay Walker, Sony) and produced by close confidant Stephen McDonald.

“Unspoken” combines mainstream hard rock with hints of Bush, Chevelle and System of a Down vibes. Vocalist, Aaron Oakley aka “Bubba” takes you back to what our generation recalls as the good days of early 90’s rock with his Layne Staley-esque looks and a strong yet vulnerable Gavin Rossdale voice. The other elements of Prognosis consist of Guitarist, Joe Pennington, bassist Josh Frank and Drummer Mike Neyra.
