Album Notes

Sacramento based Nintendo theme song geniuses The Advantage (theadvantageband.com) and New York City based independent lyricist/vocalist proGrammar (proGrammar.net) team up again as Advantage: proGrammar for their sophomore effort, “Advprodisiac”, a searing rock statement on carnal and romantic love and their connections to life, death, psychosis, medication and God. 13 of The Advantage’s brilliantly heroic takes on the theme songs for such classic Nintendo games as “Castlevania”, “Super Mario Bros.” and “Metal Gear” provide the rock-solid foundation for proGrammar’s insightful lyrics and soaring vocals. This time out there’s no rapping, just songs reminiscent of every genre of rock produced over the past 40 years: arena, psychedelic, hard, metal, indie, art, and so on, all tied together by Grammar’s quirky, intelligent and humorous lyrics sung in his gorgeous and malleable voice. Clocking in at just over 27 minutes, this album takes listeners from the most prosaic to the most profound considerations of love. Try some of this aural “Advprodisiac” today! You won’t be disappointed… (Recorded by proGrammar at the Wreck Room. Mixed by Eric Ronick at Thin Man Studios. Mastered by Michael Sarsfield at Frankford Wayne.)
