The ancient Egyptians believed that death brought on a 12-hour journey to the eternal afterlife. Each hour filled with judgment requirements and tasks by Gods and Goddesses. One may successfully reach the Egyptian netherworld at 12 hours and 1 minute... or 12:01. Egyptology? or the recent rumored theory behind the name of Denver band, Project 12:01?

Formed at the turn of the millennium, Project 12:01 has managed to remain the best-kept secret in "Darkwave" music. Gorgeous, unearthly female vocals weave their irresistible layers through dark and milky electronic soundscapes. Melly London's siren-esque vocal stylings range from school-girl whispers to seductive poppy purrs to operatic and eastern influences. Counterpart Noel Johannes can be defined as something between a mad synth scientist and electro gear god.

With influences ranging from Madonna to Depeche Mode to Delerium, Melly London and Noel Johannes not only share a love for creating music, but also an addiction to ancient Egyptian folklore. An extremely intriguing combination to the listener.
