Project Grand Slam's new single, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", a song about helping those in need, is being dedicated by the band for the benefit of the victims of child abuse, arising out of the Penn State University sexual abuse scandal. A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS SINGLE WILL BE DONATED BY THE BAND TO ASSIST THESE VICTIMS.
The track is a dynamic, emotional rendition of the 1960s hit by the Hollies. Joye Hennessey, our Special Guest Vocalist, captures all the feeling and emotion of the song and takes it to a new level. The band backs her with a driving, insistent bottom which lifts her vocals. Please promote this song. We are releasing it ahead of the release of our new album because we want to give something back to the victims.
Project Grand Slam is an Electric Jazz group. The band's debut album, Play, released in 2008, featured the hit single "The Captain Of Her Heart" featuring Judie Tzuke on vocals. The band and five of the tracks from Play were featured in an episode of the hit NBC series, "Lipstick Jungle", starring Brooke Shields.
