Album Notes

Project Lumens is the collaborative effort of numerous musicians and vocalists. Based in Atlanta, but with members in New York, the grouped was formed with the sole purpose of creating original audible art. This double album is not entertainment, it is the lives of the musicians expressed vocally and instrumentally, and none of this was done for any other reason than the experience of making this album. This is not a game - it is a musical movement- the expression of love through art.

The group consists of two emcees, two producers (one of which plays live instruments), one singer, and a DJ. The two lyricists (Optimis and Sprout) began performing together in '98 and regularly freestyled at open mics, as well as were featured artists at the Historic Royal Peacock, Kaya, The Ying Yang Cafe, and The Apache Cafe. Elias and Tony (two of the album's producers) also work together as "Beat, the Dead Horse Productions", and have released two albums- Burnt Face and Black Label.

I hope that you like lyrics. Sit back, close your eyes and listen. This project is the culmination of a lifetime's worth of experience transferred into two 65-minute discs. It is the product of many late nights writing, waiting in lines to perform, crazy studio hours and adapting to going to sleep hours after the sun has risen.
