Album Notes

John Prosser was orphaned at the age of seven. He has spent the large majority of his life perfoming live music in the streets of American cities. One of the reasons that Hard Traveler Music uses as their signature a plain brown CD cover is to express their desire that people buy Hard Traveler music with their "ears" and not their "eyes". John is blind but he sees through his music. John spent thirty years in Nashville and now performs on city streets in America. Hard Traveler Music is proud to bring John into your homes so you can experience the authentic sound of this wonderful musician.
It is the sole purpose of Hard Traveler Music to perserve for posterity original street music that might otherwise be lost. Some of the most famous blues artist from history spent little or no time in studios and had it not been for
other street musicians their work would have died with them.
Hard Traveler Music locates and gives these street musicians an opportunity to have their music recorded and preserved for future generations of musicians.
Each musician sponsered by Hard Traveler is actually singing and performing on some street in America, hence the name of our homepage VirtualStreetCorner.com.
We hope to build our website so that you can sit in your home and travel to streetcorners all across America to hear authentic homegrown Americana, folk, country and blues.
If you have a candidate in mind or would like to cover some of our songs please contact us at Virtualstcorner@aol.com

Hey John, I hope you made it over to the stone burr mill after a night of good sleep and a dip in the Yadkin River. I had good luck in the courthouse up in Boone, got the charge reduced to improper equipment and was on my way in ten minutes. I enjoyed our conversation and meal together. Wish you the best on your journeys, searchin for a song. They are out there for you to find. These tunes on The Beggar sound great. Your friend, Stephen Beck

John Prosser has a rough, cranky vocal style which suits his material. He keeps it very simple, just guitar and harp and voice, but he writes really good lyrics and there's a lot of feeling in his tunes! "Another Notch of Hunger" really lets you know about life on the road. I also liked Colorado Coal Train and All I Want for Christmas is You. A good album I think.
