Album Notes

Protest is a metal band, period.

Combined years of experience in various bands with styles ranging from hardcore, grindcore, to you-name-it-core means they are no strangers to the local music scene.

Protest was formed in December 2003 in Dallas, TX. The band took on many forms before securing a solid lineup in early 2006. In October 2006, the band completed a self produced, five-song E.P. entitled The Truth Enslaves Us. To promote the new release, they have played countless shows throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Protest is ready to do what they were made to do. Make metal.

In the summer of 2008, The Path Less Traveled Records were turned onto Protest by Decibel Magazine and immediately fell in love with their precise, calculated riffing and vocal conviction. We feel Protest are a great band and are giving them a wider audience by re-releasing The Truth Enslaves Us through our label. In the late fall/early winter they plan to have a rough demo of material ready for their first full-length to be released in early 2009.
