Album Notes

A man of few words in person but a true lyricist at heart. This Word Smith leaves you breathless as you try to quote ryhmes in sync with him. A humble Cat, who lives a life of no compromise... He boldly makes known the mystery of the gospel through clever rhymes and quick wit humor. Proverbalist released his debut album, "Proverbalist" in 2004. In 2006 he released a project entitled "Out of Season volume 1." On November 6, 2007 he released his 3rd project, "Artillery." About the name "Proverbalist".
One day I was tellin' my wife about an idea I had for a song called Proverbalist and she was like "that's what your name should be." I'm always qouting scriptures from the book of Proverbs and a verbalist is a person who uses words skillfully. So that's where the name Proverbalist came from. I've loved rhyming since I was a kid. Around the age of 23 I was working on a secular album that was almost complete when I came to the realization that most rhymers were just glorifying themselves. I didn't want to rhyme unless it glorified God. So I relinquished that album and started from scratch. This was a stretch for me. Because I had always perceived gospel rap as whack. Maybe God allowed me to see a problem so that I could in turn become apart of the solution. If you are a gospel rhymer that had a Damascus road experience similar to my own holla @ me. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.
