Album Notes

The music on this CD is from a program that virtuoso guitarist, Pete Smyser, performed at the 2007 Bethlehem Guitar Festival. Although this annual festival is rooted in classical guitar traditions, there was an interesting twist to the theme that year; “Jazz on the Classic”. Participating guitarists were encouraged to incorporate jazz elements into a program that would be performed on a classical (nylon string) guitar. With this theme in mind, Pete assembled a solo guitar program that bridged the two distinctly different musical approaches; classical and jazz.
