I get such a kick out of Brazilian music and Jazz so this fusion of both with a gamut of rhythums, instrument melds and vocal styles for me is tailor made. Tripp Sprague's flute for And I love Her and sax for Is This Love pops out and delights. To me, Is This Love, is one of Peter Sprague's brilliant guitar moments ska style. So much technical grace and heart through each track. Love this cd.

Any band with guitarist Peter Sprague as a member has a step up to success. And when Sprague heads a musical group, the chances of it being a hit are even greater. So it is with the recently formed ensemble Pass the Drum that just released its first self-titled CD. The result of all this multitasking is a real joy, a collection of numbers in a Latin jazz mode. Great variety, great music and great performances.
