Album Notes

This is a fun, festive debut album by singer/songwriter Tod Puckett and the San Francisco-based Puckett Family Project. With a mix of funky, countrified rock tunes and fingerstyle guitar ballads, you can't help but smile and think "I wonder what I should have for lunch today. Perhaps a salad?"

Former Five-Point Plan drummer and current Galactic music consultant, Tim Carter, keeps the New Orleans funk vibe throughout. Dave Amato's blues influenced guitar work is masterful.

All CD profits go to The Arc of Orange County, North Carolina, helping people with developmental disabilities.

Based in San Francisco, the Puckett Family Project is known for festive live shows on the West Cost.

I love this debut album by the Pucket Family Project. I give Stumbling up Hill 4 1/2 stars. There is a positive energy flowing throughout. I think there is something to be said about songs that grow on you the more you here them....and these tunes have it. There is a vibe that lures you in and holds you, a colorful cohesion coming from the unselfish delivery by the talented band members, each contributing tasty elements at the right times. Whether it's the happening groove and wit of Friends, or the sensitivity of First Kiss, this album takes you there. Stumbling up Hill is a victory and I look forward to hearing where they go from here.

Alltogether good, strongly needs more finger cymbals, horn honks, and Scott Joplin piano. Let's see if it will 'Stumble up the charts'.

Fabulous entry album by PFP. The songs flow in a logical listening order; from ballad to rock-n-rollin', PFP will make you a believer on this their first of what I hope to be many, many albums. And proceeds go to a very compelling cause. Join the family!
