Album Notes

Tim Purdum has sung, played guitar, and written music since his childhood days in Cortland, Ohio. From his early years, he listened to the folk sounds of James Taylor and Paul Simon. His earliest works are love songs, ranging from the profound to the mildly hilarious. After pursuing two degrees in music which took him from Ohio to Boston, where his music began to take on more serious issues of spirituality and social conscience, Tim finally settled with his wife in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he continues to compose and perform for local audiences. His day job is teaching music to elementary and middle school students in the public schools, which he believes enriches his music-making abilities even more.

This is Tim's first CD, a compilation of songs written over the last 15 years. "Spirit Prayer", "Moments of Magic", and "Strong Enough" were written specifically for the congregation at his local Unitarian-Universalist Society, where Tim is a regular performer. "Moon Canon" and "The Eagle" are rounds written for his students at school, but make wonderful works for adults as well! Most of the other songs are devoted to his wife, Suzanne, who has been his inspiration for over a decade.
