Album Notes

For a year now Pure Grain, has captivated sold out audiences, garnered mainstream media attention, and radio airplay nationwide. Their homegrown rootsy sound could best be described as a cross of John Mellencamp and Train, and features some of the most honest songwriting heard in years. Pure Grain features Chris Taber-lead vocals, Brian DeBruler-Drums, Michelle D'Amico-Percussion, Dave Lacey-Guitar, and Ken Glidewell on bass.

Since the groups' founding in November 2002, they have released their debut CD on their own SOL Records label, secured national distribution through Burnside records, Portland OR, and made an ever increasing impact on non commercial radio with the help of Tazmoe Music's Kevin Sutter and Mark Radway (Norah Jones, David Gray, Kenny Wayne Sheperd.) The first single No Regrets held the #1 position on Roots Music Report national radio chart for 5 weeks. The band has been featured live on radio shows across the US, including Studio 89 on WNKU in Cincinnati, and The Skip Naft Show on KDNK, Carbondale Colorado. The group has toured nationwide with fans hailing from all parts of the country. Pure Grain headlined the 2003 Last Chance Bluegrass and Roots Music Festival, in Helena Montana, played the Indiana State Fair, and made network TV appearances. Pure Grain recently performed to a captive audience of 40,000 people while sharing the stage with Hank Williams Jr.

Future plans for Pure Grain include, market expansion through increased national touring, an independent DVD release and going into the studio to record there upcoming sophomore release "Out of the Storm".

This album is awesome and unique, but what you really need is to see Pure Grain live to fully appreciate the skills and chemistry that this band possesses. They have no problems kicking up the grove and getting places hopping. Spread the word and see this band if you get a chance (you might just see a naked crazy fool while you're there). Oh yeah, wait 'til you hear "Kiddin' Funk Blues" (Crazy Good). Burrito Out...
