Purple Wheelchair’s “OPERATION: Vexus Citizen Dimensional” is the album for you !

The “Purple Wheelchair” recording project was born in a 100 year old schoolhouse near Ojai,
California, in 2001. The proverbial “man behind the curtain”, known as “DEPT.”, started
Purple Wheelchair with the philosophy of producing musical compositions in a “factory-esque”
fashion, carefully building and turning out a steady stream of New Wave Psychedelic Pop,
Ambient Dub Rock, and Other-Worldly Experimental aural landscapes. Until a machine or
andrioid is manufactured that can replace them, Purple Wheelchair will keep on rolling out
their extraordinary brand of musical stylings. With the help of a few close friends and family,
Dept. and his “Purple Wheel Square Players” have only one mission in mind; to create a channel
and a source of sounds embodying the freedom and joyfulness of the music of our collective
youth. That source being the “other worlds of our inner-minds.”

15 Purple wheelchair Factoids

1. Purple Wheelchair is the brain-child of a guy known as “Dept. ”, which is short for Department.

2. Purple Wheelchair has recorded 3 full length demo CDs, and 1 full length independently-
released CD called “ Fight the Rainbow ”, in 2008. The new CD, due out winter of 2009, is called
“ OPERATION: Vexus Citizen Dimensional ”.

3. Two songs from their first CD have been played on KALX 90.7 FM, in Berkeley, California.

4. Dept. once woke up in the middle of the night, and found himself in the pitch dark on the side
of Figueroa Mountain, with no explanation of how he got there.

5. Dept. has also been the target of multiple Inter-Dimensional Medical Abductions since childhood.

6. Purple Wheelchair lost its home and studio when half the house was washed to sea in a
terrible flood, January of 2005. They lost all of their instuments, production gear, and everything
else they owned.

7. Dept. and Rob Taylor were house mates and were in 2 other bands before Purple Wheelchair--
Farm Boy, and microscopic god.

8. The first Purple Wheelchair CD cover was handmade. It was cut and printed with a 40 year old
printing press, by a friends home company called “Lettre Sauvage”. It was then glued together
and packaged, one at a time, by Dept.

9. Dept. is obsessed with late 70’s / early 80’s music, collects bars of soap from around the world,
likes to party, camp, and spend time in the wilderness.

10. Purple Wheelchair has a side project called, “ Purple Wheelchair Esquire ”, which performs
improvisational and experimental versions of their recorded music.

11. Dept., Toaker, K8, and Teph, all play in a band called ” Two Eye One Socket “, a live dub band
that plays old style dub music and chill out dance grooves.

12. Ray Waggoner is currently playing the Los Angeles area in his band, Rooster Ra.

13. Guitarist Toaker is currently playing and recording with Primitive Radio Gods.

14. Purple Wheelchair got it’s name from a rare strain of killer bud.

15. Purple Wheelchair seeks all forms of beneficial information from inter-dimensional beings.
