A power-pop/punk band from Orange County, California. Oozing a raw, hard-edged basement charm and displaying an obvious affinity for mid-to-late 70's new wave pop, The Put-Ons are a rough & rocking alternative to ultra-wussy indie sap.

notes
The Put-Ons Debut CD.
Recommended if you like late 70's era American and British Pop Punk bands. The Put-Ons, A Power-Pop/Punk band from Orange County California, formed in the summer of 2000. The Put-Ons sound has been compared to The Clash, Buzzcocks, Generation X, The Jam, The Only Ones, and 20/20.
The CD was written and produced by David Pedroza. The band's discography includes a 7" red vinyl EP on Unity Squad Records and "Cuts" Hostage Records Compilation. Whitney Catastrophe: guitar, David Pedroza: vocals/guitar, Shawn Munoz : bass/vocals, Mike Petrus: drums
"Oozing a raw, hard-edged basement charm and displaying an obvious affinity for mid-to-late 70's new wave pop, The Put-Ons are a rough & rocking alternative to the ultra-wussy indie sap that usually passes for "power pop" these days. The 4-song vinyl EP, recalls not only the likes of The Nerves and Flashcubes but also 70's poppy punk bruisers like The Undertones and Carpettes. - and the result is a pretty damn cool record. I dig this! If someone would have told me that this was a long-lost demo from 1978, I wouldn't have been shocked. This will make my 2001 Top Ten, for sure."

author: nbptreviewerThis is a phenomenal cd. I am a big fan of the buzzcocks and it sounds just like them. I cant wait for a new cd.
A must have for fans of retro-punk!
author: ChristinaImmediately after hearing a few seconds of the first song I was hooked. The music is catchy without giving up its hard edge. It just plain rocks! I just wish I lived closer to Orange County so I culd see them live.
Great and so is the drummer!
author: Andrew BurkhartThis CD rocks! The whole thing is great and the drumming is awesome!!!!!!
This album kicks ass. The Bass player could replace JR on Dallas, he's that cool
author: Linda LovelaceThe album definately has traces of late 70's style and gets two major thumbs up. I think that they need to write a little more diversly though. Looking forward to some new tunes soon.
She's not that great!!!
