ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Combining funky breakbeats, thick, yet subtle harmonies, alongside soulful melodies and stellar improvisation, PVD explores the best in old and new music. Drawing from a vast catalog of influences, the band gets down and dirty as a funk band while maintaining the subtlety of an acoustic jazz group. Reminiscent of a 70's fusion group, PVD's sonic pallette includes acoustic instruments alongside synthesizers while the five man rhythm section grooves like no other. Performing the music of drummer/composer Pat Van Dyke, the band frequents the New York area, bringing their live show to small and large venues throuhout the city. Guaranteed to show you a good time, PVD will make you get up out your seat and move.

The Definition of Chillout
One of the coolest cds I have ever heard. Definetly in the top 5 of independent music cds. The sound and mood is like the soundtrack to a cool underground movie from the 70's. Well written and excellently played. This cd is the definition of chillout music. If you ever need the soundtrack of a chill moment in your home, office or party you must have this cd. Period.
