Album Notes

Patrick William Sharp's first independent release is a fully produced, ready for radio, genre-bending debut. Influenced by many artist including John Mayer, Sting and Rob Thomas, Patrick offers a plethora of pop and rock tunes.

The disc delivers a solid pop anthem with "Running". "Metaphorically running towards a better place, spiritually" is how Patrick describes the EP's first track. "Running is a response to grace, not a prerequisite." Joe Massa is on acoustic and electric guitar.

The ballad, "You Have My Heart", is the pick hit of the project. "It's cool that people have had such a positive and often times emotional response to a song that means so much to me personally. I guess that some times the most personal thoughts are the most universal."

"Close To You" is a mid-tempo modern rock plea for intimacy. Randall Waller is on lead guitar.

Sounding a little like Jason Mraz, PWS tackles the meaning of life with "Made To Love You". Make sure you hear the two separate bridges that flank the guitar solo by Stephen Leiweke.

"One-eighty" is an apocalyptic brit-pop/punk ditty about repentance. Heavy with back ground vocals, this song is all Patrick all the time (as is "Running"). "Singing multiple harmonies with myself was new and weird...and cool." Guitar work by Jim Collela.

"The most fun I had in the studio was recording "Deliver Me". I got to scream a bit." Some amazing guitar work from Rex Schnelle is complimented by the cool base stylings of Mickey Ryan of the MPK posse.

"Remix: You Have My Heart" = Ear Candy. "The original "You Have My Heart" has this nylon guitar that's always reminded me of Enrique Iglesias' "Hero". I was at the gym and heard a trippy remix of "Hero". I asked uber producer Kurt Goebel if we could do something like that with our ballad." Kurt had worked in Miami Clubs and had become familiar with the Genre. "Kurt cut loose with the Remix."
