Most recent incarnation and album, /it's only a paper world/ is a self-production that again advances the concept of "Gesamtkunstwerk" which has always distinguished /q3/: each phase of the production, from conception and composition until promotion and sale, is handled by the musicians themselves. An object brimming with hints and clues, the container - probably the first stereoscopic CD cover ever - is as important as its contents. The repertoire is a contemporary and intuitive reinterpretation of the age-old art of counterpoint which denotes European music: employing jazz, drum'n'bass and rhythmic ostinati reminiscent of both "In a Silent Way" and Stravinskij, the voices of the four instrumentalists overlap both melodically and rhythmically.

/q3/ is a musicians' collective gathering artists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Max De Aloe, Luca Gusella, Michael Neff and Gabriele Pezzoli around the rhythmic tandem of the young Swiss-American brothers Simon (double bass) and Brian Quinn (drums). Evolution of the homonym trio of brothers, comprising also Nolan Quinn (trumpet), founded in 2004, /q3/ is featured by festivals and clubs all over Europe (Blue Note Milan, Suoni e Visioni Festival Multimediale, Ellingtonzaal Amsterdam, Europafest Bucharest, Kaštan Praha, Istituto Svizzero di Roma and many others) and awarded prizes dedicated to jazz music (Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2007, ZKB Jazzpreis 2006, Nescafé Gold Jazz Award 2005). /q3/ puts forward new projects and original ideas constantly; among them are four record and video productions, soundtracks, concert and event productions.
