Album Notes

Quarter Acre Lifestyle was founded in New Zealand by two brothers, drummer Aaron and bassist Cameron Pollock. In 2000, Aaron moved to the US and the band consequently became a global effort. Since recording a self-titled album in Minneapolis, Minnesota in early 2006, their music has evolved into a sound they can call their own in a brand-new second album, Blood on the Lawn. Quarter Acre Lifestyle have achieved a bolder, more direct sound with fellow Kiwi-turned-Las Vegas resident Tony Masterantonio now on guitar and North Dakota native Kristin Brown vocally contributing a shimmering, delicate sweetness to the brother’s original “atmospheric popcraft” (Pioneer Press). On this collection of rhythmic, delicate, and dark pop songs, you can hear diverse influences ranging from Massive Attack and Portishead, to Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, Diefenbach and Brian Eno.
