Album Notes

Qasim was born and raised in Newark NJ, where he first learned how to play the drums, keyboards and guitar.Q's father is also a musician, which allowed Q to experiment with many instruments around the house at a young age. Q's first group was with some neighborhood friends called the 4 seasons. They use to put on Saturday night shows for the hood in his parent's garage. The later years after college, Q moved to Atlanta and signed with Warlock Records as a member of E'lan, an Atlanta based group which had regional and national success with air play overseas.

It wasn't until the group split that Q began to stack up a list of credits and accomplishments with independent record labels which made Q one of the musical jewels in Atlanta. As a writer, composer, singer, producer and arranger, he brings a lot to the game and is able to work in any setting and wear any hat. Along with everything else, he's most noted for his tremendous gift for snatching a medley out of thin air, which continually impresses everyone he works with on recording projects. In this body of work, which is entitled "better late than never," his first CD on his own, you'll hear a blend of jazz, pop, r/b urban with a strong moral conscience that will always reflect a fundamental hope, enlightenment and joy.

I met Q a several years ago and it was a pleasure to get re-aquainted with him. After purchasing and listening to this CD many times, Q is a master at his craft. This CD should put a lot of folks on notice as to how music should be presented. It is bangin' from start to finish, well composed and performed well enough to get national exposure. I urge anyone to buy this CD and give it your un-divided attention.
