Album Notes

An impressive 700 performances to their credit, the four resounding horns of Quadre, together, can create the richness and power of an orchestra or the delicacy of a chamber music ensemble. With their comfortable, humorous stage manner, members Amy Jo Rhine, Nathan Pawelek, Lydia Van Dreel, and Daniel Wood are committed to reaching audiences, young and old, through their own original compositions and cleverly arranged selections from Handel's Messiah to Mel Torme's Christmas Song. Whether collaborating with guest artists, playing on a 12 foot alphorn, or performing passionate, operatic melodies around the audience, Quadre is sure to entertain.

During the late, sweltering nights in Oregon, Quadre celebrated Christmas in August recording this collection of holiday favorites. Percussionist James Kassis, the Bellfire handbell choir (Sarah Van Dusen, conductor), and Hollywood superstar horn player, James Thatcher joined them in performing these original compositions and arrangements.

Great album. Lots of great playing and wonderful arrangements. Very fun to listen to. Of course I am a bit biased. Add it to your holiday collection.
