Album Notes

Quarter Past 8 releases their first CD “it’s time” lyrically inspired by stories and vignettes of life that occur when we least expect them to. Time comes and it goes. The small poignant tales that make up a lifetime become tunes for tomorrow and are a reminder for us all: with time comes clarity. Less is more. “it’s time” illustrates the simplicity of life and a path were we find that which we love.

Seattle singer/songwriter, Cat Henderson provides lead vocals/rhythm guitar for the band. Together with Mike Henderson – bass/backing vox, John Kohlenberg – drums, Tony Klontz – Lead guitar/backing vox the four of them make Quarter Past 8’s first CD release, "it's time" a sincere, first collaborative collection of original and cover tunes

The bonus track included in the CD is a tune Cat, along with co-writer Oscar and Grammy awarding winning composer Bill Conti, penned the lyrics for the new alma mater for the University of Washington in 2008, "Rise Up With Pride for Washington”.

“I opened up the email on the morning of the 4th of July. There were three sets of lyrics…I read them and when I got to one, I went to the piano and did, rise up with pride for Washington (playing the piano) and I continued to write the entire alma mater in one sitting. It’s happened to me only one time in my career that the lyric inspired me to simply write.” Bill Conti September 2008.
