Album Notes

QUEST was launched in 1998 in Brittany, France by two pro musos with wildly different backgrounds

Gillian O'Donovan (ex backing vocalist Eurythmics etc), soul/jazz,
and Bruno Cormand (3 solo discs as Grendel), rock progressive ,who wanted to try something neither had done before...We had no idea where it would take us and no preconceptions either..

The result was an experimental disc in 1999 called "Appellation non contrôlée" ,
close enough to trip-hop in atmosphere ,with strange jazzy vocals swooping up and down the scales.

After playing live to a surprised public in Brittany ,Holland and Bosnia,(from electro festivals to jazz clubs !), Quest returned to the studio at the beginning of 2000 to record"REFLECTIONS" with Gurvan Mevel(drummer). The mixture of improvised acoustic and electronic drums gave it a more upbeat electro/ breakbeat feel..while keeping the emotional tension on a high burner..
