Album Notes

During the Summer Of Love in San Francisco, many artists emerged at venues like the Fillmore Auditorium and the Avalon Ballroom. Outstanding among these was Quicksilver Messenger Service. Fueled by the dueling guitars of John Cippolina and Gary Duncan, spurred by the heartfelt vocals of bassist David Freiberg and Duncan, and anchored by the solid drums of Greg Elmore, Quicksilver was one of the premier groups on the scene.

This special two cd package captures the magic of their legendary live performances from 1968, as well as several rare studio cuts. Many critics have opined that the live material here "blows away" their legendary live record "Happy Trails" from this same period. This disc is a "must have" for any fan of these players.
