A resident of Breitenbush Hot Springs, Quija was drawn to the piano in the healing retreat and conference center's lodge in 2005. A student of the piano since the age of 8, she was inspired by the mountains, river and beauty of her new environment. This music, unknown to her until then, flowed from her fingers like the water moving down from the Mt. Jefferson glaciers forming the Breitenbush River. It was the inspiration of a guest who supported the recording of the music to preserve it for future listening. The healing arts team uses it daily to accompany massage sessions. She continues to play the piano, and credits her parents insistence that she practiced as a child for her present endeavors. Quija also plays the guitar, native american flutes, djembe and didjeridoo as well as singing and composing original folk music.
