Singer/songwriter/sailor Eileen Quinn captures the realities of sailing with her humorous lyrics and eclectic musical style.
It's incredible how accurately she writes about the things you feel while sailing long term...she's taken Jimmy Buffett's place as our favourite sailing song singer. C. Chalmers, Texas
Eileen has made the most significant contribution to sailing since roller furling. B. Seifert, Rhode Island
We have been out cruising 10 years, you capture the essence of cruising perfectly. T. & B. Vandiver, Florida

Another winner. Glad I got it

I really enjoy the insights. When I hear the songs I can picture just what is happening. A few songs are more cynical than in the past but I enjoyed them anyway. Keep the music coming!

Eileen finds humor in sailing.

This CD is great! The humor is so on target, especially if you have ever experienced the same circumstances. Listen several times so you don't miss anything!

These songs are wonderful!
author: Kathy Parsons
This a great CD. I first heard Eileen perform these songs in the Bay Islands of Honduras. You had to watch what you said around her, because she was liable to write a song about it! Some of the songs are funny – “Oops, I Forgot” and “The Anchoring Dance” are hilarious and oh-so-true. My favorite however, is the beautiful “Don’t Ask Your Love to Choose” which has been known to bring tears to the eyes. The lyrics, the tunes and arrangements, and her voice all combine to create truly memorable songs. I highly recommend this CD!

CRUISING WORLD, Tim Murphy, Feb 1998 THE 45-KNOT WIND BLUES Did it ever occur to you that the 12-bar blues is the perfect background for a weather report gone wrong, or that speaking the words "November Mike November" makes for a bumping Delta rhythm? Well, it occurred to Eileen Quinn. She's been cruising the Caribbean for three years aboard Little Gidding, a Bayfield 36 cutter. Last hurricane season, while holed up in the Rio Dulce, she went into a recording studio in Guatemala City, handed over the cruising kitty, and laid down a dozen tracks of original cruising tunes. The folky result, No Significant Features, is laced with some fun and inventive moments. My favorite is "Tarpit Harbour", a waltz-time ditty about getting stuck in an all-too-comfortable anchorage. If you're near Yucatan this winter, Eileen's got a sail locker full of cassettes. Otherwise send $12 to her brother, Kevin Quinn, at Unit #77, 3099 Uplands Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, K1V 9T6. It's worth a listen.
